2. Take advantage of the three events happening at Roanoke’s local coffee shop
Aromas on Oak in Roanoke continues to serve as a hub for community events, and this weekend is no exception. On Saturday, Nassiff School of Music is hosting a free Sip & Strum guitar lesson at the shop from 10 a.m. to Noon. Bring your own guitar or borrow one from a friend. On Sunday, the shop is hosting a Yappy Hour from 9-10 a.m. benefiting Canine Companions, a service dog nonprofit. Bring your dog and get them a free pup cup latte! While you’re there, you can shop at Roanoke’s pop-up book shop, The Novel Narwhal. They will be set up at Aromas on Oak from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for their Back to School Book Fair Bonanza.
