Northwest ISD to host town hall on Proposition A funding measure

Northwest ISD will hold a town hall meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 23, at Daniel Elementary School to provide information and answer questions about Proposition A, the district’s upcoming operations funding election.

District officials said Proposition A is aimed at reducing class sizes and supporting district operations. If approved by voters, the measure is projected to generate at least $12 million in new revenue for the district. Of that amount, $8 million would go toward lowering class sizes and funding student programs, while $4 million would be used for raises for teachers and support staff, according to the district.

The Sept. 23 town hall is one of several scheduled across the district in September and October. A Facebook Live session will also be held Oct. 16. A full list of presentations is available at nisdtx.org/election.

Early voting runs Oct. 20–31, and Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 4.
