Bow Wow Readers Brings Furry Fun to Reading Time

If your child loves books and dogs, the Roanoke Public Library has the perfect Saturday morning plan.

On Saturday, August 16, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, young readers can meet Finch, a gentle golden retriever mix with a big heart. Finch is part of the library’s Bow Wow Readers program, where children can practice reading aloud to Finch, who the library says is a friendly, nonjudgmental listener. Finch makes the perfect audience for building confidence and making reading fun.

Whether you sign up for a reading slot or just happen to be at the library, Finch will be there to lend a listening ear. The atmosphere is relaxed, encouraging, and tailor-made for kids who want to improve their reading skills in a stress-free way.

This event is open to all ages, so even the youngest book lovers can get in on the fun.
