On Saturday, August 9, Northwest ISD will celebrate its 75th anniversary with a special ceremony at Northwest High School. The event will mark 75 years since the district was formed through the consolidation of local communities in the late 1940s.
The event runs from 2-4 p.m., with the formal program beginning at 2:30 p.m. Key figures representing the district’s past and present will share remarks:
- Dr. Mark Foust, Superintendent of Schools
- Roy Eaton, community member and Class of 1955 graduate
- Jerhea Nail, former school board member and staff, Class of 1973
- Carl E. “Scooter” Gierisch, Mayor of Roanoke and Class of 1984
In addition to speeches, the program will honor past superintendents, school board members, and some of the earliest Northwest High School graduates.
Attendees should enter through the west entrance of the new arena at Northwest High School.
