The Speedway is hosting a special drive-in screening of F1 The Movie on Friday, August 1, to raise funds for those impacted by recent flooding in the Texas Hill Country. 2. Get into back-to-school mode at one of these local events
There are at least three back-to-school events happening this Saturday. The biggest is probably the Tanger Outlets Back-to-School bash from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Don’t miss the food trucks, photo booth, games, and more. Another important event is Argyle ISD’s Back-to-School Eagle Bash Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to Noon at Argyle High School. And if you know someone who has an incoming Pre-K or Kindergarten student at Johnie Daniel Elementary, remind them about the PTA’s meet-up event in Pecan Square this Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m.

3. Take the kids to the End of Summer Party at the Roanoke Library
Families across the area are invited to wrap up the summer at the Roanoke Public Library’s End of Summer Party, happening Saturday, August 2 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the library’s meeting room. Guests can enjoy live music by children’s performer Andy Mason, dive into a variety of arts and crafts, play interactive games, and snack on some tasty treats.

4. Support local talent while enjoying a production of a family-friendly classic
Northwest ISD is rolling out the magic carpet with its annual Middle School Musical production. This year’s show, Aladdin Jr.. features rising 6th, 7th, and 8th graders from all seven NISD middle schools. Performances will take place at CW Worthington Middle School on Saturday, August 2 at 2 p.m. & 7 p.m.
