Argyle ISD has announced that starting with the Class of 2026, Argyle High School’s graduation ceremony will be held at the school’s new stadium. The district is calling the shift the start of a new tradition. It marks a major shift for Argyle ISD, which previously held graduation ceremonies off-site.
The Class of 2026 will graduate on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 8 p.m. at the soon-to-be-completed stadium located on the high school campus in Canyon Falls.
“We are so excited to celebrate on our own field for the very first time this spring,” said Argyle High School Principal Shannon Knowles. “There is something special about honoring our graduates in the heart of our own campus, a place filled with memories, traditions, and the spirit of our community. I believe it will be the perfect backdrop to launch our seniors into the next chapter of their lives.”
The stadium, scheduled to be completed in December, will have a 7,500 seat capacity.
Argyle ISD says the decision to host graduation on campus allows for more flexibility in scheduling, avoiding conflicts with UIL competitions and other events. More importantly, the district noted, it gives seniors the chance to graduate on the same campus where they attended high school.
District officials are working on bad weather contingency plans.
