Roanoke Library hosts free beginner calligraphy class this weekend

Looking to try something creative and relaxing this summer? The Roanoke Public Library is inviting adults and teens (ages 16 and up) to a free beginner-friendly calligraphy class on Saturday, July 26 at 2 p.m. in the library’s meeting room.

Part of the library’s Crafternoon series, this workshop will introduce participants to the art of medieval-style lettering—no prior experience required. Attendees will learn step-by-step techniques for creating elegant, historically inspired scripts perfect for handmade cards, décor, or just for fun.

Space is limited, so RSVP is required. To reserve your spot, email aholston@roanoketexas.com.

Whether you’re a history buff, a craft enthusiast, or just looking for a new hobby, this hands-on workshop offers a unique opportunity to slow down and unleash your inner scribe.
