Don’t miss these back-to-school events in Northwest ISD and Argyle ISD
Summer’s winding down, and that means it’s time to start thinking about morning routines and packing school lunches.
Whether you live in Northwest ISD or Argyle ISD, here are some local events to kick off the school year.
📅 Upcoming Back-to-School Events
August 1 – Northwest ISD Pre-K & Kinder Camp
A chance for the littlest learners to explore their new school, meet teachers, and get comfortable before the big first day. Click here for session times and sign-up links.
August 2 – Argyle ISD Back-to-School Eagle Bash
Celebrate the new school year with this annual community gathering. Meet with campus and district staff, enjoy delicious food, participate in fun activities, and connect with your school community. This event runs from 9 a.m. to Noon at Argyle High School.
August 2 – Johnie Daniel PTA Pre-K and Kinder Meet-up
Families starting Pre-K or Kindergarten at Johnie Daniel this year are invited to join the PTA to meet new friends, enjoy a popsicle, and connect with other parents. The event will be held at Pioneer Park in Pecan Square from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
August 2 – Tanger Outlets Back-to-School Bash
Tanger Outlets is promises this event will have fun, festive activities perfect for students of all ages. A live DJ will entertain the crowd, there will be food trucks, a photo booth, an airbrush artist, games, and lots of free treats. They are also hosting a special “Unlock the Locker” game featuring gifts from Tanger retailers and chances to win prizes. The event runs from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
August 4 – Hatfield Elementary PTA Teacher Clap-In
Help give teachers and staff a warm welcome back to campus as they prepare for the year ahead. Meet at 7:40 a.m. at the front entrance of the school.
August 5 – Roanoke Elementary PTA Back-to-School Bash
A new event for this year that promises to bring lots of excitement. There will be bounce houses and face painting for the kids and Chulas Food Truck and Churros will be available for purchase. This event is scheduled from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
August 5 – Argyle Middle School Parent Orientation
Parents of rising seventh graders or an eight grader that’s new to AMS can learn more about the campus at Parent Orientation night. This event is from 6-7 p.m. at the Argyle Middle School Auditorium
August 6 – Argyle HS Freshman and New Student Orientation
Parents are welcome to attend this informative event for students attending Argyle High School for the first time. Freshman orientation begins at 5:30 p.m., and orientation for new students in other grade levels starts at 6:45 p.m. Both sessions will be held in the school auditorium.
August 7 – Gene Pike Middle School Panther Camp Night
This special event is for all new students attending Pike Middle School this year. Families of incoming 6th graders and new 7th and 8th graders are invited to enjoy food trucks, get familiar with the school and meet staff before the first day. Panther Camp will take place from 4:30 – 6 p.m.
August 8 – Meet the Teacher Night (Argyle ISD Elementary Schools)
Families from Hilltop, Argyle South, Argyle West, and Jane Ruestmann Elementary are invited to stop by, say hello to teachers, and get familiar with the classroom. Check with your campus for event times.
August 8 – Meet the Bobcats Community Pep Rally (Byron Nelson HS)
Come and enjoy the biggest BNHS pep rally of the year! Shop a variety of local vendors & food trucks as you meet this year’s Bobcat athletes, marching band, Dazzlers, Bobcat cheerleaders, and more. Event runs from 5-8 p.m.
August 8 – Meet the Texans Community Pep Rally (Northwest HS)
Save the date for Meet the Texans on Friday, August 8th from 6 -8:30 p.m. at the Northwest ISD Stadium. The pep rally starts at 7:30 pm, and the entire community is invited!
August 9 – Argyle ISD Welcome to the Nest Playdate
Hosted by the Argyle ISD Education Foundation, this event is exclusively for incoming kindergarteners across the district. Families are invited to the new Canyon Falls Park from 9 – 11 a.m. to make connections with each other before the school year begins. Snacks and drinks provided!
August 11 – Meet the Teacher Night (Most Northwest ISD Elementary Schools)
We have confirmed that Justin Elementary, Daniel Elementary, Clara Love Elementary, Roanoke Elementary, and Perrin Elementary will host meet the teacher night on August 11. Check with your campus for final details.
August 12 – Argyle ISD First Day of School
August 12 – Hatfield Elementary PTA Chalk the Walk
Bring sidewalk chalk and help decorate the paths leading into school with fun, encouraging messages for students.
August 13 – Northwest ISD First Day of School
Time to pack those lunches and set those alarms—school is officially back in session!
August 13 – Johnie Daniel Elementary First Day Events
The Daniel Elementary PTA is hosting two events for the first day of school. From 7 – 7:30 a.m. is the Welcome Wag, where families can enjoy donuts and breakfast before walking to school as a group. The event is in the green space between Cobbler Street and Elm Place. The PTA is also partnering with the Pecan Square HOA to host the Cheers and Tears breakfast. After dropping the kids off at school, parents can meet each other and grab breakfast at the Pecan Square Greeting House from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m.
August 25 – Argyle Middle School Back-to-School Night
Parents can visit their student’s classes on Monday, August 25 from 5:30-7 p.m.
